Heading to Banff this weekend with the family and was hoping to take in a little fishing. Just seeing if anyone has been to Minnewanka in the last year. I was there 3 years ago fish and caught a few lakers, just didn’t if the fishing is still decent.

Thanks in advance!
Mike

No change, same as always.

I prefer the far end but don't know if you are fishing with a boat.

And do not have any lead of any sort in your tackle boxes. Jigs or weights.

I was diving off the cliffs near the main parking lot a number of years back and some teenagers were fishing above us. Managed to snag me in my drysuit glove. I was on my way to surface anyhow, and it was windy and choppy out so they must have not seen our bubbles.

Lets just say this kid thought he caught a MONSTER  I nearly pulled him into the water....

Diving, it is very rare to see fish in that lake as they get scared off by our bubbles. They are in there though.

Did you not have your flag out to say diver down? Guess the kid didn't know better and never took the course.

not right at the cliffs, if we are any distance from shore the flags are utilized.

no lead tackle under 50 grams or 2 ounces. max two fish combined (laker, splake, or mountain whitefish), zero on bull trout and once you have your two fish limit, you must cease fishing, bait ban which includes scented.
