Going to be in the area of Payne lake next week. Has anybody fished there recently and what has been working?

Also is there any other bodies of water I should try while I'm there?

Police Lake is nearby and has been fishing fairly well this year, although the weeds are getting bad in some areas.

I love Payne Lake, always get a few 14"-16".Panther Martins, small len thompsons, orange seems to be a color to start with.If you have a boat get away from campround area and head for the west end, fish around the island about half way down the lake.I have some small plugs, by Storm I think, that look like bumble bees, horse flies and always catch on them

Any tips on the best places to fish from shore? Thank you :)
