I don't want to try brain tanning yet. I see several kits for chemical tanning such as this one

https://www.amazon.ca/Hunters-Trappers-Tanning-Formula-NW/dp/B0031TRZJG/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=hide+tanning&qid=1564103456&s=gateway&sr=8-1

I have a bear hide I want to try to tan myself.

Anyone try these kits?

Dave hasent chimed in on this? he indorses it. Try it out an let us know the results. You could get an accual decent tan from Stuff at home depo, the orange bottle at best is a preserve so the bugs don’t eat it.

I wouldn't waste your time with that orange bottle crap, get the proper stuff like EZ-100, lutan-F or trubond, I know Marty was talking about getting trubond to sell in AB not sure if he did but I cant say enough good about this product its great. If your have never done any home tanning I wouldn't recommend a bear as the first but if your determined to anyway make sure you degrease it really good. If you don't have any machines (tumbler/flesher etc) be prepared for a lot of elbow grease if you want the hide soft.....
