My kid has always loved going hunting and fishing, and I had promised him a week of nothing but fishing this summer.....starting with a father/son trip to the coast for a couple days, then making our rounds around Alberta when we got back for our fishing trip. Im an amateur at salt water fishing and we only rented a boat for a day, but it was still really fun. Even managed to catch a bunch of squid which i found really fun.

All in all we caught a pile of fish and made some awesome memories. He even got his personal best rainbow this week, and filled his walleye tags which he's been wanting to do (I wanted him to save them for this week for campfire dinners instead of filling them on day trips).

Was a great week, now back to work for me unfortunately. This is going to become a tradition i think.

Good for you and your son. Nothing better than just you and the boy sharing these wonderful times together. I remember mine fondly.
Good for you sir.

Great tradition - stick with it every year and neither of you will ever regret it! Keep posting annual photos and we'll get to watch your son grow up with that same wonderful smile. Next year sturgeon fishing on the Fraser ????

Indeed his Cabelas cap is most excellent. He mustn't have been able to find it when he put the flames cap on :shake2:

Sorry SSH, I had to

Again, congrats fellas.

Father of the year. I miss those days...boys are all grown up and afraid to have kids in this messed up world. Still got the memories and pictures and video tho can't take that away. Thanks for posting pops.

Thanks guys, I definitely cherish these times taking him hunting and fishing as much as possible!

Thumper, sturgeon on the Fraser would be a blast, that might very well be on the list!

And the kid is born and raised in the Edmonton area but has loved the flames as long as he’s been able to understand the game lol. It’s rare he isn’t wearing some type of flames gear and takes the ribbings he gets well haha.
