Awesome. I do have 2 dipsy's but never used for kokanee. I do have down riggers and when they don't bite on the regular one or two ounce weight I drop em down anywhere from 20 to 40 ft. depending on where the thermocline is. We usually fish Lake Revelstoke. Been going for the better part of 16 yrs. every year. I'm still drooling over those you got. We have done pretty good and those match up (EVEN BETTER) to some of our best. :sHa_shakeshout::sHa_shakeshout:

Barbless please let us know how you make out up at Lake Revelstoke, I need to buy a bigger boat and then will be running down riggers for sure. The Fishing highway up in the Caribou Chilcotin has some great Kokanee Lakes, there are some absolute tanks up there.

We went in June as always for our first trip and we usually go back in August but got 2 weddings to go to (Damn it Janet). We got between 3 of us 60 in 7 days. Like I say you might get a hundred bites, 60 close to the boat, 30 almost in the net and then 5-10 if your lucky in the well. LOL. 16 yrs. and still rookies. :sHa_sarcasticlol: We stay at Martha Creek in June then Carnes in Aug. More details if needed to follow. Only by request :thinking-006:

-- nice koks, if you were in the Deka Derby they should of been winners, nice to see kokanee fishing results posted here an a "alberta site", nice change!

-- for those of you that have never fished for kokanee, they fight like their cousins (sockeye) and many times fight like a Coho, pound for pound there is no better fighting or tasting fish

-- you need to book a trip to Kalamalka Lake, Bridge Lake, Deka Lake or Horse Lake, plus there are many more in BC to choose from, but you want big koks these are the top Lakes this year

-- the world record for kokanee is around 9.69 pounds

-- myself and my wife released three kokanees that exceeded the world by several pounds

-- pictures are coming, hard to post and this forum, nothing like Facebook (easy pizzy)

-- so why did I these these three fish if they were records?

-- I fish for records all the time, basically walleye and kokanee, these koks were so big I thought no way can they be koks they have to be sockeye

-- to put these pictures of these kokanees in context, I am 6 feet tall and weigh 240 pounds

-- the pictures are from Kalamalka Lake, August of 2013

-- go chase these true trophy fish, catch salmon (kokanee), without the price tag, cabins are $100 (can) a night, and the gear is cheap and affordable

-- if anyone needs to know the dos and don'ts and what to buy and where to go, feel free to contact me

Hooked, i heard the winning Kok at Deka this year was 3lbs 12oz, so ya i think we would have been in the running, lol. I would love to see those pictures of said world record Kok's, did you weigh them by chance?

I was at bridge at the start of July, the Kok's are indeed big this year, lots of 3+lbers. A double header of cart wheeling 3+lbers is pretty interesting to say the least!

Would go back every week but can't eat that many without going over limit. Also we do not ever take our limit home. Always leave some for others to catch. Not by choice.:sign0176: That's just Kokanee fishing. Years and years of SH!!t'$ and giggles and the one that got away. Toonie for the first and another for the biggest. I lose every time. :sign0161: My boat but I put the other two on fish. Captain Hook. Yup got it in the finger, had to go to town to get it out. In lake Revelstoke you can still use barbed hooks. LOL
