Anybody on here make fur mitts/gauntlet? I have all my own furs and brain tanned leather, I know braggadoe has old post where they did but that was few years ago, I sent him a msg anyway but he hasn’t been on here for long time so seeing who else may know someone and ballpark prices to get done. I have too much fur sitting around I want to make some things. Have a tanned bison hide I need to make things with too lol

I’ve made some for myself. It’s not that difficult, takes about three evenings and 6 beers total. Mine aren’t fancy but they sure are warm.

Look up “chopper mitts” if you want a pattern.

I've made my own, many years ago. Moose Hide, and artificial fur (because that was all I had). I wanted elbow length, and loose-fitting so that I could throw them off at a second's notice to grab the rifle. I've also used them snow shovelling and snow blowing. They have worked like a hot-damn for over 40 years, but the fur is getting a little matted now.

Send me a PM and we'll talk.

My wife makes them with fur she tanned coyote, beaver, bear, wolf, lynx and moose or elk hide.
