I know there is a minimum 40# @ 28" for big game hunting.

Is there a minimum # for Upland game birds ?

With the new lower age limits for hunting, can lower # bows be used legally?

My son has a 28# at 28"

Not for birds no poundage minimum, but make sure you get a bowhunting permit in addition to the wildlife certificate.

A well thrown rock or a slingshot does the trick. If your bow has more mechanical advantage than those, you're golden.

10 years old for game bird now. Still 12 for big game.

I have a question. If you are shooting a shorter draw length like most 12-15 year olds, what would be the minimum poundage?

For big game it’s always 40lbs, for birds there is no minimum poundage.
