Agree with others ..... imgur.com

It's the easiest/user friendly photo posting platform on the Web.

I've been using IMGUR as well, ever since photobucket started their extortion policy a few years ago.

I've been on this forum since its beginning and am amazed it hasn't offered a way to upload photos without having to use another site. The technology is obviously available. Just sayin'.

That... is exactly why i dont post pics on this site. If other forums can do it so can AO.

Another vote for Imgur. While some forums allow direct upload you get a lot better quality pictures using a hosting site like Imgur. Even on the ones that direct load I post from Imgur instead.

Agreed. The only problem with sites like Imgur is that once a person changes or deletes an account. The pictures disappear from the forum.

I use this site

user Cp - PICTURES AND ALBUMS - albums - add album - name it -add picture -browse files - upload file

To post open album click on picture copy URL

It's kind of finicy sometimes a picture loads fast no problem next time it fails try again later same picture "poof" it works

Like X 1000, blows my mind! Besides all the keyboard warriors on here this is the other reason a lot don't share pics......

The irony of this thread is that it’ll probably garner more responses than one that actually contains pics. [emoji849]

What on earth are you guys going on about..?
This pic was taking on my cell, then downloaded to my CP from cell,
opened with paint, (to put in the red circle where you open up "Attachments"),
then loaded from my computer to AO.
I did NOT use no hosting site.

Do you not notice the difference between post #17 and your posts #18 and #19)? Your small and low quality pictures are attachments, not uploaded pictures.

Thought this was about folks not knowing how to upload pics/attachments..

Well hopefully AO gets a program in the future that will allow us to post directly to it.
I posted on General only after writing the question on "how to upload pics thread" that has been on the main page for a long time. I never got a response on it.

All those years of pics i have stored on Photobucket can only be obtained now if i pay to use them. I don't mind paying a bit what i do mind is getting drawn into paying for a long time..

Really we are old school when you compare our lives to using our smart phones ...Take picture or pictures write and send ....done.
But i am Old school so i enjoy this forum and have so for many years ..

Of course they're uploaded pictures-as in low resolution "attached" jpegs.

I use https://postimage.io It is super easy!

1. choose your image.
2. copy the "hotlink for forum" link
3. paste the link into the thread.

It really is that easy.

:sign0176: Oh how I have struggled with this here on the AO forum and also on CGN Yet uploading a picture on Facebook,KIJIJI or any old buy sell forum is a piece of cake. I just fiddled around with the Postimage web site got logged on and made a couple of attempts to post a picture but alas must still ware the dunce hat.

Anybody that can't figure it out, PM me your phone number and I will be more than happy to walk you through it. It takes maybe a minute the first time and then a few seconds each time after that.

Not so fast, I went over to the "Optics For Sale" page and had a test run at adding a picture of a sight and am right back where I started. Hmmmm.

The only thing you did different was post the right link after putting it in the little yellow picture box. See even I can post the same picture using that link.

This is the basic link, see brown underlined link below, it won't show as a picture unless you put it in the address line of the Yellow box that shows up when you are creating a post,

https://i.imgur.com/fZhGIrt.png

After U click on the Yellow box, this shows up and you paste the link into the box

https://i.imgur.com/bYAUF09.png

but if you click on the link it will show up as a picture on the "PostImage" site you loaded it to..

https://i.postimg.cc/NFkKGKgZ/IMG-1494.jpg (https://postimages.org/)

Once put into the dialogue box that comes up after u click on the Yellow box it shows up as a picture right in your post.
