Good camping/fishing spots

I'm trying to plan a camping trip with my wife and little guy (he's 18 months old). I live in Airdrie, originally was thinking of going down to Pine Coulee but now got told we need to camp somewhere with some decent trees. The thing is I also want to get in some decent fishing in preferably as close to the camp site as possible (my boat is out of commission for the time being:() so we can watch the little one while fishing. I'm open to any suggestions, but the last thing is that the wife wants to go swimming as well, so ice cold lakes are probably out of the question as well. Thanks for any ideas.

Lake newell outside of brooks has good shade around the campsites and some pretty decent pike fishing from shore with a pickerel rig and a minnow, not to mention a few get pulled out of there every year in and around the 25-30LB range:D

Oh ya its great swimming with a nice beach. The water temp is just right its a BIG DEEP lake.

was going to say newell as well, could also try pine lake as well. newell has been my favorite lake since i was really young, man do i miss it.
