What do you prefer for snaring coyotes. 1/19 or 7X7 cable. I have always used 3/32” in 7X7, but am wondering if there would be any advantage to going to 1/19. Thanks for the advice.

I'm far from an expert but the little I have used I find the 1/19 holds a loop better and doesn't droop as bad.

I use 1/16 1x19, 1x19 have a better round loop and the 1/16 are harder to see. So far, no coyote broke free.

X2. Been using Marty's magnum spring and trigger with a death blow lock for 2 years now and I like the combo.

7x7 3/32 for extentions with swivel.

1x19 1/16 with either marty's magnum spring/trigger..

this year I'm going to try the lights out spring/trigger system.. So far making them and setting them is easier.. We'll see how they kill in a couple days

7x7 will grip the current production snare locks better than the 1x19, 1x19 is a smooth wire finish due to the large diameter wires/lay of the cable.

7x7 is a softer and more droopy cable, 1x19 is a rigid cable and makes for a better shaped loop, might you round vs elongated is literally a preference thing.

I have one guy squawking at me regularly that I'm doing it wrong and I need to be using 7x7, better lock up blah blah blah, but I'm still picking away at life with Lightning Locks and pretty happy with the lock up.

Hoping it gets here before seasons end.If it comes afterwards I can at least use up my many experimental parts. Good on you for trying to bring about a better snare,Mr Sennecker.Would love to see a pic of one.

I hated using 7x7. A loaded 1x19 is way better.
