Hey guys, people have been leaving big holes open in the ice on lac ste anne SW corner area near cleared hockey rinks and stuff in the val quentin area. Shallow water so im assuming going for whitefish. However in that area there are lots of kids, snowmobiles, and quads. Super dangerous to leave it unflagged or marked in any way - especially in a busy area. I think there was an older post on this regarding liability when you leave something like that. And with the warm weather it stayed open sunday(today) as well. If anyone knows or sees anyone doing that by any chance please let them know its not safe for others. I couldnt imagine if i kid went down one. Its a hole that would have been cut by a big saw or multiples of holes when drilling - or both.
