I would say the Salmon fishing in Banff is a little weak.

But give it a go if you must.

you would be better off fishing north of Vancouver or on the island somewhere . K country has better fishing than Banff and you don't need a parks permit

I fished out of tofino most recently. I managed 2 -15 pound chinooks they were great eating . There was a couple of salmon fishing threads on the board that may be more helpful.

I was just out on the west coast of the Island last weekend - supposedly the fishing was good in Sooke and Port Renfrew. I was fishing out of Bamfield and we limited out on Chinook, the biggest we got was my 25lber and the rest were all at least 18lbs. Ask the locals when you get there.
