I was drawn for an Antlerless Elk this year. This is my first Elk hunt.

Last year I used a Hornady 30-06 SPRG 165 GR INTERBOND on a Moose without any issues. :D

I like this round, my rifle seems to like it as well.

Is it enough to take down an Elk?

I don't plan on taking any shots farther than 250 yards.

165 is a great round for 30.06. I wouldn't have any hesitation using it on an elk.

I would not change a thing if you and your rifle like it use it..

The Hornady Interbond is grossly under rated. Although inexpensive, it is a fine bullet. I've had very good success with it in a variety of calibers. 165gr outta your '06.....go for it.

As stated if it tipped your swamp donkey over, it'll put the lights out on any cow elk. Just put it in the boiler room, and make sure your knife is sharp.

We reload our ammo and use 30-06, 165gr bullet it a great round and will take down an elk. If you can place your shot its going down!

Dad took his first bull elk last year with one shot 165gr bullet went mabey 30 yards.
