Just noticed that the McLeod river (ES3) d/s of Hwy 47 is now only open April 1 to Aug 31

The 2019 regs had this stretch open April 1 to Oct 31 as had been the case for many , many years...

The change is NOT shown in blue.

Can someone from AEP chime in here please!!!!

They've been pretty good at responding when I email them directly.

Yeah...thought about that...but with Easter break and Covid that everyone would be in hiding....

How I read it:
It's open from April 1-August 31 with retention of 2 brook trout.
It is then open September 1- October 31 just zero retention on brook trout.

It's like they forgot the second part. For that matter what was the big change for upstream?

Now I'm curious. How do you actually know they read this forum or someone from AEP does?

And even it they did...somehow, Like our own AO admins and moderators, they cannot read everything just for the sake of reading. Seems to me you might have to share this through other means.

Yes, the downstream section is the one screwed up.
The upstream section is now open longer than the downstream section...

Upstream change is no trout between Sept 1 and Oct 31

ROTFLMAO....Let's just say that I do...

And, I will try other means...as I said before...thought with Easter and Covid that emailing would not be appropriate at this time

Pro-move.

At least you have until August either way. But of course you really needed that answer over the Easter weekend, all makes sense now...

A message regarding this thread from Alberta Environment and Parks:

We do read a lot of the AO forums as they provide insight and information we wouldn’t get otherwise. Thanks for providing feedback regarding this error.

The section of the Mcleod R / Mainstem only; Hwy 47 downstream to the Athabasca River season is Open Apr. 1 to Oct. 31. All the catch limits are correct.

We will be including this correction on the https://mywildalberta.ca/fishing/advisories-corrections-closures/default.aspx webpage.

There is so an error in ES1 for the sheep river. It states opening is Sept 1 instead of June 16 for the lower reaches. I contacted AEP and the person I was in contact with disagreed there is an error, who else can I speak with to get this fixed?
