I live in edmonton.... I love big trout (more than 3lbs).
I have a boat, (18ft)fishfinder, GPS, downrigger, tolling motor, ect... and 5 days off thend of August. Where would you go? Don't mind 6 hr drive or less. BC licences too expensive.

Cold lake is probably your best bet. Peerless or grist lake would be #2. Minnewanka #3. All have lake trout. I dont know cold lake or minnewanka so I cant help you there. If you want more info PM me.

Slave lake, ask around and pay for a guide for a day. Get a gps position so you can go back. There are also some awesome lakes north of Slave lake that don't get the pressure. Should be some locals to get some help from.
