I’m looking for advice on a fishing / pleasure boat . I’m looking for a boat that I can use for fishing and a bit of cruising in waterton lake. I have some small grandkids and gramma that I would like to take out , and feel safe . Thx

Hmmmm sounds like a pontoon boat material for all to enjoy a day in the water.

That's the route we are going to go.....still keeping the 14' crestlimer, yak and canoe though....:)

the new ones with larger pontoons can handle anything any other boat can but are a bugger to get on the trailer in high winds but there are trailer assist guides to make that easier...here in Cold Lake the wind can reek havoc and there are a lot of pontoon boats out and about...

I have a Lund 1775 Crossover with a 150 Merc outboard. It is a wider boat than alot of others which makes it very stable. It is perfect for fishing or pulling tubers and skiers. Bought mine in 2015 and very happy with it.

Waterton lake or Waterton Reservoir? I thought they weren't letting people put there own powerboats into Waterton Lake any more due to invasive species risk.

Pontoon boat, to get the deck space, ride, and fishability takes a bundle of cash and a few boats to do what a pontoon will do.

Get something that can pull skiers.
Eventually, kids will prefer to spend time with their friends rather than with family. The lure of skiing and tubing is large and will keep them wanting to come out, even when they hit those difficult teenage years.

My vote goes to a Lund or Crestliner that can do double duty as a fish'n'ski.
Maybe an Impact or a FishHawk.

Like mentioned depends on how many and how many times they come out. Weather does dictate activity but depends on size of craft and experience of course. Watched a bunch during the week of wake board boats and pontoons out having a great load of fun. Tubes and water skiing on both. There were also some aluminum fish and ski boats doing the same. Mine is a 17ft. fish and ski and can pull a 3 man plus a 1 man tube or get 2 skiers up at the same time and do 37 mph. Go big and let the kids take over and buy a little smaller for your fishing needs.

As mentioned above....can be a bugger to load in high winds.

I purchased a Princecraft Hudson 170 last spring. The grandkids love it. Great fishing boat and I can pull them easily on the tube. Multipurpose, and good on bigger water. My only regret, I didn’t do it 30 years ago. Barry Jays set me up with the right boat for me.
