Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a guide for doing a float fishing trip on the bow river?

You a fly-fisherman ? PM Steve Mason on here, he used to guide drift boats might know someone still in the business.

There's many great guides out there but depending on what you are looking for the answer could be different.

For example; if one wanted to learn how to cast and toss some nymphs going with a hard core streamer guide that will yell at you for not making 3 casts a minute will make for a bad trip.

What do you want?
Do you want to do a true drift where you rarely go on shore, do you want to use the drifter as a taxi just to hit shore based spots, do you want to cast foam to risers, no blind casting? Do you want to run down the main stem chasing indicators? Do you just want to catch a brown?

Match the guide to your style to get the best experience.

What section do you want to fish.

All of these options are up to you.

Be a good sport, understand the guide is working his shoulders off to get you in front of fish, do your part.

I do enjoy nymphing on the bow but my girlfriend doesn't fly fish so looking to do a spin casting trip. Would prefer not to shore fish. Looking to do a boat trip for sure , downstream of Calgary.
