Is it just me . . . or is there something I'm missing here? Is this woman trying to sell what I think is a $50 combo, for twice that?

I've googled this combo several times, and I keep coming to the same conclusion.

That's what I thought too . . . so I'm kinda scratching my head here.

I thought it might be fun for the girlie gimmick factor, but I certainly wouldn't give her anymore than 20 bucks for it.

Actually, I don't have that much free time. I do have plenty of free moments throughout the day, though. Son #1 is glued to the computer, son #2 is in bed, and the other half is crashed on the couch watching "Loch Ness."

I was actually looking for a yogurt maker (found one!) on Kijiji, when I decided to have a look for "fishing rods" and came across that ad. I always check the new prices for things that catch my eye.

Since I'm on mat leave, and funds are limited as a result, I buy a lot of stuff used. I've saved thousands of dollars . . . it is really important to research things first though.

used is the way to go, a lot of people buy things they will never use, so why not take advantage of their impulses and save money to spend on more important things? Im not too proud to save money. I even pick up pennies! But then again, when I was a kid pennies were worth money

$50 bucks is being pretty generous, that thing is only a couple steps above the homer simpson rod and deffinatly less cool. Especily if she's in the states, I remember buying a couple rods at a pawnshop in NC for 20 bucks a pop, I didnt even want the rods but they had Abu Garcia Embassador 6500's on them which cost around 80-100 bucks new in canada at the time.

A female friend of mine wants one of those rods with the light up reel...I think they go new for about $40 at the flea market.
