just wondering if you guys had any designs i need ideas on how to make a mounting bracket for one for and inflatable boat. Its a seahawk 400 sport. Im so sick of rowing but i cant come up on how i would secure a bracket so it stays on. i dont even care if i have to sit on it

you can buy a mount specific to that boat; i have one. you might have to look on the internet for it though. the two loops at the back and the small holes on the oar locks are for the mount

heres the best pic i have of it

This looks like the unit here....

http://itemlistings.ebay.com/sdcsrp?fl=350165570679&product=seahawk%20motor%20mount&sconstraints=IncludeSelector%3DDetails%2CSellerInf o%26ItemType%3DAllFixedPriceItemTypes%26ItemSort%3 DBestMatch&xm&siteid=0

If not, manufacturer of those units should have the 'exact' fit.

Cheers,

Canadiantire sells the boat mount. I bought the last one in Edmonton Millwood store, $49.99. If you are in Edmonton, go to the Sherwood park store. There were three left when I bought mine.

I actually DIY one before I bought the specific boat mount from CT. I found the 3/4'' copper plumber pipes from Homedepot, which imitate the two loops. The only challenge is how do you bend them. I used a hammer:)

the mount that fits the mariner WILL NOT FIT the sport 400 (from manufacturer)
of you want to make one, here's a better pic of what the original looks like

notice how the "arms" are not one-piece; this is integral to making it work

I was lucky enough to spot one at the Sears Outlet in Dearfoot a few years back. Paid like ten bucks for it. Worked rather well. Rick.

How about the motor. I have a shed full of stuff for the right home if you need. Electric trolling motor would be one of them. Let me know I can bring it with me.

does it have enough thrust for a 16 foot fat canoe?
