Just thought I'd give fellow Optimax owners a little help in diagnosing the "four beeps every two minutes" alarm that may sound on your boat. According to the owners manual the alarm may be from either low oil in the resevoir or water in the fuel filter/seperator. To narrow it down quickly, locate the fuel filter/seperator on the left lower part of the engine. There will be a single wire attached to it. Remove the wire and turn on the key. If there are no more beeps after two minutes, then you have narrowed it down to the filter/seperator. Remove the filter, dump it out in a suitable container, re-install, prime with the bulb and off you go! This has worked for me on three different occasions when it was hard to tell how much oil was in the resevoir.
