I had a fantastic time hooking up to some chinook salmon which were cruising along the ground. Seeing them at an average of 110 feet deep. Lure of choice was the Gibbs delta Macfish which matched the hatch fairly well.

I also caught this fellow that looks like a pacific cod but it doesn’t have any barbells. So I’m guessing it ripped off.

O yea!!! I went fishing again right after this video and I snatched up this chinook for my last fish of 2020!

Looks like a Pollock to me. Very similar to a Grey Cod but no barbel and they don’t get as big. If you had 2 side by side there is a difference in their lateral lines too. Hard to tell in that pic though.
Definitely not a Greenling.
Great way to catch a Spring too. Congrats!

Definitely not any species of Greenling your pictures just help to prove that point.

Juveniles look very much alike. Lack of a barbel and the fact you are in southern waters makes me lean towards pollock.
