View Full Version : Pine Coulee
I was wondering if it is worthwhile to bring my canoe with trolling motor out there, it seems that everyone has a lot of success right on the dock.. If I should bring out the canoe/trolling motor, any real hot spots recently?

Nah you don't need a boat to hammer the walleye. Anywhere off shore in at least 8 feet of water will get you fish as long as you are using minnows or worms.
Sounds good to me! I am going to go grab some minnows and head straight there after work today. Thanks!

Smelts work awesome too, if you bring a conoe you will only be swamped by all the big boats that dont see you or dont give a damn either way.

When I took my kid there, we used chunks of smelt; cut a smelt into 4 pieces.
Those hungry 'eyes ate those chunks like candy!

Do you fish the smelts right on the bottom or under a float?

just put the smelt chunks on a jig and let it hit the bottom, all you need to do
Thanks guys, it was a pretty good day out there.. But it sounds like it is always a good day out there!
