Been catching a lot of fish on the Northland Eyeball spoon this year, tipped with a minnow head. Also always use the eyeball jig and minnow
The Kamooki triggers a lot of strikes too

I been wanting to try that eyeball jig with a minnow head.

My all time favorite has gotta be the buckshot rattlespoon from northlands. All sizes for all kinds of fish. For ice fishing ofcourse.

As for open water Jerkbaits.

Gold slender spoon

Well this one is pretty easy, it would be a Mepps Black Fury. All you need to do is pick a size to match your target. If you can't catch anything on one of these, then you really have some issues.

That said not sure how it would fair ice fishing.

If I could only use one lure/hook for the rest of my life, summer and winter, I’d choose a white jig. Versatile and effective. Slap a twister tail on it and pull it through the water. Put a minnow or worm on it and bounce it off the bottom. They will catch all species.

If I had to say one and only one...Len Thompson anything from the dimple series, traditional to custom....I have caught fish in the topics, west coast, interior etc....good for anything all over the world....I jig them, toss them, troll them, bait them etc and yup they just work....so,stiles you need a slight different presentation with them as in size, Color, additions but if I settled for one and one only as in company Len Thompson gets the nod....now if I was to only use one of these...No.2 five of diamonds....:).....err maybe 00....hmmm

this winter I've been using flutter spoons more than anything. It's been deadly. It took me a long time to switch my method of thinking from Manitoba lakes to Alberta reservoirs. It's such a huge difference in what works and what doesn't. When you figure that out, the game changes in your favour...

Still one of my top colors but white would be my choice over chartreuse

In the end (and hoping this isn't to much of derail) the most important thing is to be where the fish are. Lure choice (within reason) takes a big back seat after that.

I'd give the most novice fisherman in a good area a better chance than Bob Izumi fishing junk.

Hi, just saying I have caught perch, trout, walleye, whitefish and pike on a pickerel rig. Also it is only $1.50, so for a beginner it would be perfect. Pick the right size hook and right bait you will get fish. I have had doubles on all fish except white fish. I will try to find my old pictures. That picture I posted was when the pike were spawning. You have to find a pike lake that is open all year round and you will have a blast. That day we had 4 doubles and 60 plus pike.

Realistically, my favorite lure depends on what I'm fishing for, and how I'm doing it (ice fishing isn't the same as trolling deep water) BUT .....

If you had to go with ONE lure to do it all ..

A jig would be it. You can do it all with a jig and they are cheap and versatile and all fish seem to bite them.

Hi, you can troll with spoons and lures but you can also drift fish with a rig and cover ground with wind and current.

I will put my gaff on the shelf with the other things I can own but not use. Like my ruger 10/22 25 shot mags.
