I'll be in the area Saturday doing some scouting for the archery opener. I know that spot well, might try and drop by and meet some fellow AO members.

Sounds good for directions. don't worry about firewood as we cut down 6 cords of wood in that area every fall. I know lots of spots within a short drive and we can cut down the forest. Won't be any need to buy any.
See you all soon.

If the weather stays nice like it is forecasted, I'll probably stay out there till Sun. I've only been up in that area once in my life and only fished the upper Red Deer for a few hours so I'm keen on exploring new fly fishing waters.

There's endless flyfishing opportunities out there. I like to get on the other side of corkscrew. Some nice waters back in there. I'm still not 100% on coming out as I am in edmonton friday and saturday but if i get back early enough I will come out sun morn.

what about the Raven for fly fishing

what about the Raven for fly fishing

The Raven's great for fly fishing. I just get cramped up fishing the Raven because you can't open up and really cast due to all the overhanging willow and other underbrush on the banks. There's some beauty browns in there though......

There's a few you can try depending on how far you want to drive. The south fork of the prairie creek produces nice browns as well to the north of you. If you go west over corkscrew mountain there's clearwater river and cutoff creek junction, there's good fishing in this stretch with bulls, browns and whites in there. If you go further west on the FTR you cross elk creek and have access to clearwater river and peppers creek and lake. All of them are good fishing and elk especially seems to be producing well this year, peppers lake is hit and miss most times and it's best fished from a tube or boat of some sort. Then you get to Ram river, hummingbird, onion creek etc. Some decent cutthroat fishing up in those areas and beautiful country in there as well.

Don't overlook the Tay river. Just get off the beaten path and you'll get into the browns, brookies and rockies.

Hope these guys are all ok from that storm tonight. I can just imagine BBJ running for his life trying to protect random people.....

yes we all survived even BBJ. He just got a little wet around the edges but we had a big tarp up during the storm and it only lasted a short time. Have not seen rain like that in quite a while. Made for some mud soup in our camp spot.
