That lake is typically slow in August and this year is no different. The bite goes off and on (while being off much of the time). When it's on, they're picky - for a half hour they might be all over powerbait then won't touch it with a 10 foot pole - but will go for a worm or shrimp. Spinners can get bites there right around sunset. Good luck.

notice they are barely hitting trolled pink pixie and wabler no hits, red black fury panther martin no hits. Had a few hits drifting a worm. Is there any particular color they like up there blue silver chartruese?
appreciate the hints and tips.

At this time of year it seems to change every hour of the day at that lake - and even when you got it figured out, the bite is still on the slow side. Until mid-September it'll be pretty tough to figure out a consistent bite there. In my own experience, meats (either worms, shrimp, or mealworms) seems to be the best bet during bright daylight. Powerbait starts working better the last hour or two before sunset. When the sun drops below the horizon, you can get a few bites on spinners or little cleo's from shore.
