Anyone use one?

Brand? Is having a 12v motor necessary?

I have about 2-3 acres of newly cut line to seed. Thinking of using my quad to do it. I see many spread seed 360 degrees so ill build a shield to stop it from splashing up my back as I go.....

Fescue or red clover is prob what ill seed

Don’t need a 12v. You can control volume as well control speed to get it right. I did a couple acres with my Atv easily with tow behind JD spreader. Key is timing, meaning rain vs draught lol and helps to roll after you have done seeding to make sure dirt is in contact with seed.

Your more then welcome to borrow mine and save yourself a few bucks

Hey PS

We did a pretty flat job on this. I might drag a harrow behind my truck and give it all a good scratch first. Maybe a passby after seeding too if it makes a difference

I saw some seeders on Amazon

Im not keen on a motor, because i think a guy could get it right with adjustments and a steady speed. First 50 feet will prob tell me if im overdoing it?

We always use harrows behind tractor or Atv. Princess auto has some that will work and i would suggest putting weight on top of harrows for good scratching. Then seed and yes u will know in first 10-15 ft if u need to adjust hopper either way. After done i used a 10’ 4x4 with metal edge and dragged behind quad to fill in evenly. Voila. Like i said offer is there. Not like these get used much. Only use mine now for fertilizing.

I appreciate the offer

Likely I will need my own anyway. Ive got 101 ideas of what im gonna do in the next few years. Lol

I just left princess auto actually. Lol

My buddy has a chainlink homemade harrow. He just cut into links and pointed then down. Uses a few cement blocks like you do

Good idea on the 4x4 with edge. Might fab one up this week
