After going through a bunch of recoils on our jiffy auger we put that aside and bought an Ion.
It is the 10” , 5 amp battery.
The last 2 trips out the battery is barely making it through 4 holes.
Ice is fairly thick, about 26”.
Battery is kept warm as best as possible and have never been left to freeze overnight.
Auger was bought just before Xmas.
Does this sounds like a bum battery or is that about what we get for power?
After being at full charge on the 4th hole battery reads 1 on the display.
Thanks.

Def something wrong, return/exchange it. Was just out the other day with 28" of ice, same ion 10". Drilled 20+ holes and full bars still.

No way your battery should crap out that quick. Call the warranty dept.

I have no problem getting 50 holes out of my 10" 40V strikemaster in 30" to 36" ice. I'd say you have a battery issue or a short of some kind of issue with your powerhead drawing alot of power.

Yours is defective. My Ion G2 10" with 6ah battery lasts way longer than I can. It takes at least 10 holes through 2 feet of ice for the battery meter to drop from 3 lights to 2. It has never dropped to 1 light before I gave up for the day. You do have to keep it somewhat warm.

Picked up a replacement battery today at fishin hole, good guys to deal with!
Just hope that was the issue.
Thanks for replies all.

I’d say that was your issue for sure,my recently upgraded G2 10” has drilled a total of 12 holes of 28” ice and hasn’t even moved off the full bars of life. And i guess if there’s a chance that it wasn’t the battery it’s definitely the charger.
