Non typical pike.

Caught this guy yesterday on a wide gap #8 copper worm and a minnow head , no leader and 6 lb mono...quite a struggle and was real surprised to see his top lip ! Its a Trike...A new hybrid ! Very interesting and obviously doing fine... Perhaps it can dig too with that lower mandible...lots of freaky pike out there, tough adaptable creatures...

j/k ive actually never seen stuff like that here, at least out of henderson and the university pond, and i never have any luck at nicholas sheran or the riverstone pond. normally if i had heard someone got a disfigured fish here i wouldve assumed henderson, but its actually been getting a lot cleaner the past few years.

This is actually a well-known birth defect in Northern Pike. It has been recorded quite often since the 1940s. I do have several references to it in my Northern pike library.
