Back roads app

I will be doing a lot of driving this year from Edmonton to Fort McKay and Grande Prairie. Thinking of taking my rifle when the seasons open up there but obviously need to get off the main highways but still make it to these places without backtracking too much. Is there an app that people may recommend that would help with this.

The back roads map books are good but old school made of paper and ink.
I hunter is good too.
