Got 2 hultafors old style splitter 26",and a hatchet. One for around the cabin, hatchet for backpack. One Katz hatchet(made in el salvador) for junior. Got a few other ones by yardworks for chopping roots and other dirty work.

No pictures.

You got a nice collection going leo, some mean looking edges.

Some nice looking axes. I have a few old no name ones that work fine for splitting. I also have a couple of old broad axes that I still mean to make some handles for. The fanciest axe I have isn't really an axe. It's one of those stainless belt axes that Leevalley sells. They're way more expensive now than when I bought it over 10 years ago. Amost as much knife as hatchet, but I've grown attached to it. Looks like they are no longer available so maybe I have a collectors item on my hands! https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/hand-tools/log-building-tools/axes/44448-belt-axe?item=45K1655

1.
Norlund large felling axe, almost 5# has a huge poll, its a great splitter,
1a. Have same pattern axe as the Norlund with Mastercraft markings, appairently they had a relationship back in the day.
2. Unknown boys axe 2# on a long handle, good steel.
3. Husquvarna carpenders axe
4. 1.5# HB hatchet with home made handle i use for carving and light work

Have a couple others hanging around waiting for handles, and some cheap ones that get used for wedges

I don’t know much about axes, but I’ve had this old girl in my garage for years and years.

Anyone know anything about these?
Or if it’s worth anything?

Any idea where a guy could locate a nice handle for it or what style of handle I should get?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210309/20a13c9e32bfb3a9674ba70cf9ab1b94.jpg

There are lots of axe nerds around that know more than me, but it looks like a Hults Brule axe, which have a good reputation.

At a yard sale, it’s worth $5, but you might get $100 or more from the right buyer. I’d give you something in the middle if you de use to sell it.

For a handle, my first choice would be East Coast Lumberjack, followed by Home Hardware online and then Princess Auto. PA only carries 36”.

I'm fond of Gransfors Bruks Axes - especially their small hatchets.

She's a 3lb Hults Bruk. Cleaned up with a new handle, she's a great axe. If you want an original Hultafors handle, Lee Valley or Trapper Gords sells them.

Bought one from Canadian Tire in Red Deer about 35 years ago. Its about 2.5 lbs, and has served me well as a camp axe, both for splitting and making kindling. It looks a bit rough, but will get lots of TLC before camping season. Unfortunately I can't seem to upload the pictures.

Wish I had bought a Norlund Saddle Cruiser axe many years ago, when they were available. Used to see them at an Outdoor Store in Hamilton, but never had the funds at the time. Still see them on E-Bay on occasion, but I feel the asking price is way too high for my budget

I have a cheapo hardware store one I found that I am not too worried about thrashing’s loosing. Then I have a Hults Bruk Kisa. The Kisa is a great little axe! Having both a cheap crap axe and a quality axe I can tell you there is NO comparison! If you want a good axe spend some money!

I have a 2 1/2 pound Hults Bruk ( H/B logo) that I've had for about 50 years.
I think these were the most common axe in Canadian hardware stores, before the invasion of cheap Chinese junk axes.
