This is an interesting film. Pretty slow for action but has interesting notations about the whole event. Called the warmest tent in the world and it probably is. Interesting that the men and women have certain roles in putting the tent up. And oddly, the men cannot even enter the tent until smoke is coming out of the stovepipe on top.

And to think these people move camp every few days. I love the use of reindeer hides for the outer shell of the tent.

I have always said if you want to find out real life facts on something in general just go to a culture that lives that lifestyle..gather your intel from there then head over to wallmart to hunt and gather.:)

Red, always found the warmest tent is the one with a Big wood heater and large pile of dry poplar wood. Spent many -30oC days in middle of winter with just good outfitter tent and some old carpet on the ground.

Tough to beat for insulation value. I'd be worried about CO.

Red, always found the warmest tent is the one with a Big wood heater and large pile of dry poplar wood. Spent many -30oC days in middle of winter with just good outfitter tent and some old carpet on the ground.

good ol'army 5 man arctic tent...cocoa matting on the floor and a two burner coleman stove on low....:)
