Headed down to the beach this morning to watch the commercial fleet lift herring nets in Departure bay. Looked like the beach had frost on it from a carpet of eggs. Many groups of seals working the water and sea gulls packed on waters edge, gorging on eggs. Wonders of nature.

Our 'herring' spawn late fall/ first ice. We need an open season on seals. They are getting hard on our walleye.
