athabasca river fishing from the peace river trails

I quad and hunt on the peace river trail system, and as you may know there are many places along the first 60km that the trail system is very close to the river. Many places you can stop and walk right up to the waters edge. My question is, has any one fished the banks of the athabasca in these spots befor with any luck? I'm new to river fishing so any and all information and points would be great.

I think you are right. I'm just going to give it a try. Be nice to spend a hot summer day sitting by the river fish or no fish.
