If you guys want to read my wifes post about her fishing trip from the weekend.
She rented a boat but I never told her about the no banana rule. Her fishing partner was in for a shock.

that is a beautiful area and they would have double their numbers if the dam banana was not on board:)

I keep telling her they also wouldn't have lost a rod if it wasn't for her lol

Looks like a beauty day. Those feeder Chinook will be great eating too.

I could definitely use a day out on the water. It’s good for the soul.

The banana myth/curse/superstition is just as much about bad luck for the boat and crew as it is about not catching fish. Losing a rod/reel overboard and snagging a crab pot is precisely what one would expect if a banana was onboard. Unless losing a rod is a common occurrence for you, I’ve never had it happen...

Some people take the superstitions pretty seriously. I don’t think a banana will mysteriously cause bad luck.

My wife tried the same thing so I called her a "Googan" ......... then, one of the forum members here brought some snacks and guess what was in his bag ....... bananas - so he got the same tongue lashing.

Darn Googans.

Nice write up looks like a fun area to fish. I am 100% going to call out the Bananas on the boat superstition as raging ridiculous but to each their own lol.

Always appreciate reading blogs with so much effort in to it.

Never knew about the banana superstition but no boat means no worries

Good post! I enjoy your video's and enjoyed your wife's blog.

Ummm..........I feel rather foolish. Been chasing Mr (and Mrs) Walley for over 50 years and never heard the banana boat thing before today that I can recall.

All in all I guess it's a good thing I'm not superstitious....lol

Not that I recall ever bringing a banana (or recall seeing anybody else do it) onboard a boat.

There's a Pat McManus story about getting revenge on a charter boat captain using bananas.

You're not alone. I think I will eat bananas if I feel like it.

Ain't that the truth!

That looked like a GREAT day on the water and those are some BEAUTY Chinooks, congrats. Thanks for sharing.

That was very well put together also.

This reminds me of that Uncut Angling video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKU0ex2yN7s&ab_channel=UncutAngling

5 min video and no one mentions bananas! I would have at least snacked on one...

Silly superstition.
Clayton and Aaron have no problems when there are bananas in the boat in the Uncut Angling video.
