Just got my first ever motorboat.. would like to try it out somewhere near Calgary.
Does anyone know if any lakes are currently open (no ice) ?
Glennifer or Pine Coulee open?
Thanks!

Never boated there.. is the launch good? Water level high enough, any dangers in the water like rocks or anything?
Thank you!

No docks in yet water is at least 10ft. low, on the launch stay to the right (on your left from the drivers side) the left side has a deep hole that still needs to be fixed. No real shallow spots to worry about just make sure you have your sonar on to keep checking depth.

you don't have your City in your information but it looks like near Calgary. The man made Lakes in Calgary are open why not use the excellent facility's at Chestermere? Give them an call and they should be able to look out the window and ascertain if the Lake is open.

I don't think Chesterslough is ice free yet according to satellite imagery taken on Monday (also don't think their boat launch is open yet either). Pine Coulee, McGregor, Travers, Twin Valley all appear to be ice free.

Chestemere is wide open but not filled yet. Chain Lakes is mostly ice free.

Last time I checked Chesterslough was $40 to launch but that could be when May Long comes.
