Hope not to much of a highjack but instead of starting a new thread thought I'd inquire as well about the Garmin units. Just picked up an echomap 95 with the older gt54 transducer. Welcoming any thoughts/tips/tricks to get the most out of it. Bought it to basically upgrade the screen size from a Helix 7 and the Garmins seem to be a pretty good bang for the buck. Plan to build a portable kit and get an ice ducer for it as well when winter arrives.

YouTube has lots of vids. A quick search for "garmin fishfinder tips" got me lots of vids. I don't have a Garmin so I can share any personal tips. I learned lots of info for my helix from YT.
