Not a single bite in probably a couple of hours, lol. As in it hasn’t moved, unless I am the one moving it. Nice evening though.

Just now cracked a beer open. Have been watching ducks floating by.

This beaver has been from one to another probably over a dozen of times now.

Earlier, it had dragged a huge log upstream, right by me. I only now thought of this thread, so no pics, lol.

Mosquitoes are coming in a little. Might be wrapping it up after I finish my beer. Or not.

Tight lines!

Not the best technique when the water is glass calm, even if you're right on them. Still, I like to toss a slip bobber out on my dock and catch up on my emails once my wrist gets sore from catching them with a jig. Nothing beats watching the bobber slowly disappear under the surface. And the opportunity to scare the $&%^ out of my wife as the rig goes whizzing past her head when I miss a hookset is an added bonus. :)

EDIT: Scratch that. Upon further review of the first pic, I see you have a pickeral rig on.

We have similar bobber technique! Nothing beats a old ladies face with a bobber screaming by eh

Haha. Yeah, the water was calm only for the past half hour or so that day. It was crazy windy for a couple of days before that (and LOTS of rain, like really lots, flooding everywhere). I tried everything I had with me (except for flies), nothing worked that day. I then threw this thing in and relaxed. My daughter joined me for a short while there, so she took over, and I tried a few different things again to no avail. I probably spent about 4 hours in total with one rod or another. The thing was that there was quite a storm that lasted a couple of days prior and it stirred things up pretty badly. Even many of those who went to the open water that day (those that I talked to, at least) came back empty handed. I couldn’t complain though - it turned out to be a beautiful evening.

Back home today. Went out for about half an hour or so. Not much luck either, but hooked a couple of small guys:

Hopefully better luck tomorrow, lol.
