Sea gulls rejoice

Quite a few dead whitefish on the surface at Crawling Valley today. Some of them were real beauties. This guy was about twenty inches and very ripe.
The birds seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Surface temps seemed high for this time of year.... 23C.
I don't keep track of it but this seems pretty early for dead whitefish to be showing up.

I just pulled 9 more off my shore at pigeon lake . real smelly and huge.

Probably a combination of algae and heat.

Was a dead one within every 50-100 yrds in the main lake last week.Heard today that pigeon is really suffering..what a smell that must be for locals..

picked up over 20 from our shore yesterday , they do smell bad. they are lots of floaters still out on the lake
