Went out this morning to my favorite lake , no wind at home but as soon as I crossed the river was blowing pretty good. normally I wont take the canoe out in a wind, but with my electric now I thought Id give it a go, its just a small lake anyways. Ended up boating 11 pike, losing a few more and having a blast as usual. What slowdown? :D Had one pike hit 9 or 10 times before it took my spoon, I ended up just jigging it vertically and after 3 or 4 tries it managed to bite the hook. caught at least half of them right at the canoe, so they are either very hungry or in a bad mood :D as for the cheapo lures, I got all 11 on one cheapo red and white, had to change the leader half way thru as they curled it up pretty good, but they sure didnt mind the scratched paint. avereaged what, 10 cents per fish or less for the spoon? whaddaya want for a dollar!!!! and its good for another dozen or more at least til it needs repainting, just replaced the original hook with a better one, and they still managed to bend one of those too in any case.
