Sure you can,,, you and a quite afew others,, but with what kind of regularity?? Any indication as to what that says about our southern Ab fisheries? I know where Id be going if a big pike trip was in order,,, and it isnt near home!

Thanks for the comments guys, it waws a blast. Whitetailman, I won't argue that there are big pike in central AB but if you can show me the lake where in 3 1/2 days of fishing two guys can expect to, and succeed at, landing 5 fish over 41", a few at 40" and countless in the low to mid 30"s while still having the potential to hook that 50+ incher I would be pretty shocked. Hayseed we would average around 70-80 fish per day. Big Fish, it's tough to say wich was the biggest one, being that it was catch and release and the guides were very protective of the fish we were not allowed to weigh them. If the fish seemed healthy enough after the fight he would let us measure them. The longest being 44".

Knowone is going to comment about the laker? When was this trip? unless it was early season lakers can be very difficult on the fly so congrats on that one. I have been guiding at a fly in in Northern Ontario for the last 4 summers and still yet to get lakers on the fly rod.

Hey Wes, the trip was in mid July, but they figured that ice out was a good week or two late this past spring. There were a handfull of lakers taken on the fly, but only on the edge of significant drop off's or in the mouth of the streams where they met the lake.
