i was looking at these in lowes. 24v, brushless, 4ah battery making 1200inch/pounds. Was thinking of picking one up for a dedicated auger drill.

anyone use on or any kobalt tool for that matter?

That’s the same torque the Milwaukee has

Now I'm curious if the extra torque makes that much of a difference at that price point. I paid the same price for an 800 in/lb Ridgid drill with a 4ah battery and charger. I was sold on the Ridgid warranty but $70 batteries change that argument too.

Yes i picked one up last dec to attach to the strikemaster auger, was impressive 6-7 seconds to drill 13-14" of ice. Price was alot higher then.

Very interesting, thanks for posting...

Been looking at DeWalt but I'm starting to wonder if you are overpaying for the brand name with them...

I wonder how that would handle a 10" auger?

8th review on the Lowes Website suggests it may work just fine.

Used on Ice Auger
I have been using my Kobalt 24v drill for tha last 3 months now. Its coupled with a clam plate and laser auger bottom - 8". Plenty of torque and cuts holes fast. I can drill 30+ holes in 18" thick ice on a 4 amp battery. Works just as good as my friends k-drill mated with a Milwaukee drill.

Powerful, long lasting
I bought this to use as one normally would a drill driver, but also to power a 6 inch ice auger for ice fishing. I started with a new battery and over three Saturdays drilled over 60 holes in 12 to 15 inch ice. Still had one bar left on the 4 ah battery that came in the kit. It takes about 6 seconds to go through 15 inches of ice with this drill and my auger. Looking forward to using in on a remodel/building project this spring. Really nice tool. In addition, the integral brake saved a broken finger when I did something stupid.

also a video!

5 year is a nice warranty. For that price hard to go wrong.

The drill in that set is only 650 in-lbs, not the 1200 in-lb unit in the OP. But damn at that price I'd give it a go too lol.

A deal-killer for me would be the lack of a side support handle.

I thought it does come with a handle.

Tried the kobalt 24v 4ah hammer drill.

I will admit its a little frustrating. I did make it work without rest. So that was a part of the issue.

I think it will work as a bang for the buck. 4ah is a little small. They do have 6 and 8ah batteries out but for some reason its only available in the states.

Video coming soon.
