Oh no....Roller Rink opens in Edmonton

I see my future now.

My partner was a "roller girl". Then a "sk8rgirl". Now someone has opened a 20,000sq ft roller rink......20min from my house........

I hope they serve alcohol..........

Cant remember the last time I saw someone even on roller blades, yet they open up a roller skate rink?? Think someone with pull was watching “Boogie Nights” and thought what a great idea!

Especially with the restrictions/lockdowns coming, cant see this doing well.

Ya, it could work against them should restrictions take another strong hold.
Or it could be the best timing possible as people are starved for recreational events after the last couple years of restrictions. She’s a gamble.

After at least 25 years I still have my CCM roller blades on the top shelf in my garage. I think they will stay there. Just thinking about it makes my right shoulder cringe in pain (a really good wipe out down hill speed) LOL

I can still remember (hard to believe) being a teen growing up in T.O. roller skating around a banked oval that they use to host the roller derby games with the mixed teams. It was a blast trying to skate on a banked track but even better to watch the pro's work their magic. Kinda like what wrestling was :thinking-006: They could skate and stay on their feet. Unlike me :sHa_sarcasticlol:

Stardust. I think it was called? Spent some time way back when. Friend was pretty good, one day he did some spin move on his way to men's room. Bashed his arm on the wall and bone went right out the back of his arm. I puked. It was awesome. It went more skateboard towards the end. Me and my sons ride at house of wheels once a week.
