So... What was Santa's decision?

In my case I guess he figured I was pretty darn nice this year! Made a great haul:

Complete cooking set of high end Stone Diamond Cookware
Ninja Air Fryer
Camo bib coveralls (insulated & waterproof!)
New (huge) Maple Cutting Board
Specialty Spice Set from The Silk Road
A set of magnetic knife holders
6 pairs of Merino Socks
New OJ Gloves

And that makes for one Happy Nog!!

Merry Christmas & Happy HoliDaze Folks!

Christmas was WAY more fun when we were young and had endless wish lists. At a certain point you get so you just buy what you want when you want it, doesn't leave anything interesting to wrap and put under the tree. Thank goodness for kids, Nieces, Nephews and their kids. Guy can live vicariously through watching the squeals of delight when they open presents.:)

I did manage to find something my wife wanted so ordered here a new CD player back in late Nov, but with supply chain issues, not here till mid January. Wonder how many others have not been able to get the presents on time.

I shaved off a piece of my finger first thing in the morning while helping opening one of the kids’ presents with the knife I just sharpened a couple of days ago. Must have been really naughty, lol.

100% the same situation here. Seems my wife and I buy what we need when we need it and it's always a struggle to find a token item or two for under the tree - and most of the focus is on the kids and relatives.

This year, as unexciting as it sounds, I got my wife a YETI insulated coffee cup, and some nice warm socks.

She got me a LED flexible work light for the bench and a nice light sleeveless sweater which I love wearing.

For us, it's more about putting a few items under the tree as little gifts for each other.

The kids make out much better - a few nicer gifts and some money (what college age kid can't use a few bucks).

Guess I wasn't all bad, some T handle allen wrenches, some Leupold 30mm med rings for the 1885, a CZ457 AT One 24" and a couple of mags, a zero deg EGW rail, and a MEC Marksman press.
Trifle is made up in the fridge, need to build some custard this aft. Will finish building smoke generator for smoker today and toss the scope on the 1885. Got to look for some T handle Torx wrenches today too.

Got a $150 gift card to cabelas to help pay for my first ever reloading press. I’m so excited but intimated by how much there is to learn.

I ordered a Stone Glacier bino harness for my 12 year old on December 4th. By some miracle it made it here yesterday. Phew.

My wife and I haven’t really seen anything under the tree for 20 years. Which bothers neither of us.

I really liked the present that my Daughter gave me. My new favourite ball cap.

Years ago the wife and I decided that Xmas presents would be just stocking stuffers for each other, if we need / want something we usually just get it during the year, we might slip in a nice sweater or hoodie but for the most part it's nik naks, socks, gloves or mitts some ausie soft licorice :)

For the older grandkids that have cars we now do gift cards for stuff like gas, and throw in a Tim's card, maybe an AMA membership, stuff they can really use.

Years ago when we lived in Edmonton area we got our kids mall gift cards for west Edmonton mall, they seemed a little disappointed but headed out boxing day to shop, our daughter came home just beaming, she said I spent the whole day at the mall with my friends and I got like $1200 bucks worth of really cool stuff for my $400 gift card, everything was like 70% off wow that was a great idea.

Xmas gifts have evolved over the years in our family and I imagine they will continue to evolve over the next years as kids get older and their needs / wants change.

Merry Xmas everyone

So what we do, like 10 of us, so in laws, our kids and their significant others, do Chinese gift exchange.

But with rules, all gift bags, boxes etc, and all garage sale items. All.

Salary capped at 40.00 per person.

Once a gift has been stole three times, it's done and owned.

So much fun, and somewhat strategic if you know what you want, a ton of fun, takes awhile but it's fun. :)

SIK! That looks like a TON of fun! X2 on some video footage.

That would make a great build thread if you took a lot of pics along the way.

A little off topic but what happened to that dude here that was building his own swamp buggy? There were a few pics of the build then it kinda just disappeared? Cant remember who was building that or I'd of just PM'd him.

I got a SWEET pair of Motocross boots. Just cause both current boots can talk to me with both soles falling off and both have a big hole in the bottom too. I had to use electrical tape to hold them on :)

Didn't even ask for them, one of my riding buddy's must of told Santa EXACTLY what I wanted, I'm VERY picky about my riding & sliding gear.

If it wasn't -35 out I'd suit up and get in a quick urban rip to try them out. Maybe I'll wear them sledding to break them in. Just need a pair of Dr.Scholl's Gel inserts. I put a pair of those in every piece of footwear I have except my WICKED comfey DC Snowboard boots. Those Gel liners are game changers.

Wife and I don't exchange gifts. Been like that for years, When we want something, we get it.

We concentrate on the kids and grand kids.

So, from my wish list, I got a nice polishing/buffing kit for my woodworking projects, and a gift certificate from Lee Valley.

I guess I was a "good boy" last year...according to some that don't live with me...:sHa_sarcasticlol:

This is the first year in a very long time that I didn’t get anything fishing related.

My wife gave me a PS5, which was really surprising. Especially given how hard they are to find these days. Got a new pair of Carharrts and the Meat Eater Cookbook.

IncrediGirl bought me a nice new belt, as my old one was getting pretty ratty.

My youngest bought me chocolates and my daughter printed me an appropriate ornament:
