Apparently this comes from the fella that invented the 300Blackout, he has now vreated and tested and has Hornady willing to make brass for it. What surprised me with it, was they are showing a Cape Buffalo shot with it, that might be going a little far out on a limb a bit, for my tastes.

Interesting... I wonder how it will stack up against a 6.5 Grendel

Grendel is shorter than this one. It fits in .223 mags.

Believe this one is for .308 mags.

I’d consider a 6mm arc in a bolt gun over a .223 if boltfaces were readily available. A little more speed compared to the grendel.

I like the concept. Lots of guys use semi autos where allowed. Close range thumpers. 2400 FPS with a 200gr bullet in a 12 inch barrel? What could it do out of a 18-22” barrel.

"When loaded with a 210gr Barnes TTSX bullet at 2450fps from the short 12.5″ barrel, you only have around 1.4 MOA more drop at an incredible 300 yards than a usual 308 Win with a 168gr bullet would have, but with a whopping 300 ft/lbs more energy on target, and that all from a rifle short enough to fit in your backpack. That is just to show what it can achieve, however we doubt many people would hunt at such long range with it."

That article has the wrong velocities.

It is 24-2500 FPS with 150-160gr bullets in that short barrel and about 2000 FPS with the 200gr bullet.

In all seriousness it's seems like an interesting round.

It would be even more interesting to be able to use it like it was designed, in a suppressed short barrel semi auto.

The one thing that works for us up here still is being a 308 bolt face makes for easy barrel swaps, and the ability to be in an AICS mag if desired.

Maybe it would be neat in a short barrel mountain rifle?
