I have 2 sets of little tracks that came off of snowblowers, 2 electric scooters and 2 gt racers. And 2 grandsons itching to play outside when it warms up. I am thinking I can gear the scooters, which have infinite speed control and lots of torque, and make some neat little machines. The have lots of electric ride-on summer cars, so I have a lot of batteries and chargers already.
Has anyone done something like this? I know they will be less than useless in deep snow, but I have a big yard, can pack a trail for them to boot around and the driveway is huge. As a kid who didn't dream about not having to walk up the hill?

Great project. Spoil them grandkids. You don't even need the tracks. The scooters' wheels on the back of a GT would be plenty. Like this drive system made for a for a GT. Might give you some ideas.

Only use one of the tracks mounted in the middle of the sled. Two on the sides will push it strait and it won’t turn worth a dam

My Aunt and Uncle had a couple back in the day. Sounds like that’s what your trying to build…

Why not just go buy the kids a couple mini sleds. When they outgrow them you will probably be able to sell them for more than you paid.
