I see they have 10 boxes of Federal Premium 30-06 in 165 gr Accubonds. $55 box. If I shot a 30-06, I’d be jumping on it, but I don’t. Just thought I’d put it out there for you guys who are looking.

Thanks for posting that, that is what I shoot.

Unfortunately I found out that there is a difference between the Nosler brand with the Accubond and the Federal with the Accubond.

They must use a different powder load because with my CDS dial set for the Nosler brand, the Federals were 1 inch lower at 100 yds.

I now have a box of Federals I don't want and had trouble finding the Noslers.

That being said, that is a good price on hard to find ammo so thanks for the heads up.

Good lesson to learn. Definitely from manufacturer to manufacturer even if the bullet is the same. And even within the same manufacturer. Different lot numbers could result in a point of impact shifts as well.

I’m confused. Didn’t you just describe the recipe for walking out with a 30-06 and the ammo?

Even individual manufactures change load recipes from time to time. They may use the same bullet, but change the powder, and the load shoots very differently, not just point of impact, but the accuracy as well.

All true, but if a guy bought 5 boxes of ammo from PR, he would not need new hunting ammo for a dang long time.

Tirebob needs 30-06. You may have had something to do with that. Did you give him a nudge?
