As a side note to my wood stove thread, does anyone have any advice on double wall vs triple wall class A chimney pipe? Will most likely be using a Dura Vent product as that’s what most everyone around here sells. Just don’t know which pipe would be best to use. The one down side to this install is I will be doing a through the wall installation and running the pipe up the exterior of the house through the eve to the ridge. Eventually I will probably build a chase for the pipe but am kind of stuck right now as that side of the house was resided in the last couple years by the previous owner and I don’t want to mess with the seamless aluminum siding. Reason for through the wall is I’m removing a propane fireplace and don’t want to make another hole so am using the same hole the current chimney comes out. Would the triple wall with the extra air space lead to a cooler chimney than the double wall?
