Just looking for some advice on where on the lake to try. Any advice would be appreciated.

Find a flat in 30-50ft near deeper water and deadstick some bait near bottom. Be ready to put in some hours after dark as well. On my active rod I run a rattle bait, buckshot spoon or heavy jig and pound the bottom to try and attract them to the area. Still a bit early in the year for the best burbot bite windows.

Not to contradict other opinions BUT Keep in mind Burbs will be shallower towards end of January and into February ..... they are staging to spawn.

I would be stunned to find many mature fish deeper than 20 FOW (this time of year) as we approach February ... spawning will occur in shallow mud flats, gravels and typically they will be having their yearly burbot orgy pretty soon in the shallows.

Burbs may be in either deep or shallow throughout most of the year - depending on forage, o2 levels and water temp ...........but not right now ....few mature fish will be deep and most of them will be moving up into the shallower water.

Ussually right about this time of year actually ... and until late March

Burbot in Ghost are like the name of the lake itself. It was good years ago for decent size fish. The last time I went I only iced small ones not worth keeping.

If you go head for the largest gatherings on the ice, usually its the best spot.
