I'm familiar with sako 85 and 75 rifles but not so much the M995 trg rifles. I do know they are sought after and collectible. My question is about action lengths. Happen to have one in 338 win mag that's in good shape. From what I can tell it was made in one action length, all calibers chamber in it.
I've seen this model chambered in 338 lapua.
Does anyone know if there was a lapua action? Or as said all one action for calibers? If it is all one action length. Anyone re barrel to 338 lapua and have feed back.
Cheers 360hunt

You would need the bigger bolt face for the lapua

I dont believe that would be a problem.
I have an excellent gunsmith to open the bolt face. Just pondering action lengths
Thanks

My fierce 338 lapua, sako clone, has an ejection port that is 3.688” long

Another option is a 338 Norma. The normal or improved version. Or even a 338 rum and keep the same bolt face

I should have done this long before posting on the forum. The magazine length I just measured is huge!
3.797" I would think that speaks for itself.
Large than 338 lapua specifications

The 995s came out in both standard and magnum cartridges including the 338Lapua. Nice rifles but very different from the 75s and 85s. I did not own a 995 but I had a few range days using my buddy's rifle. I found them heavier than the 75/85 lines. I liked the bolt and cycling action, very smooth but again very different from the 75/85. Handled well and was sub MOA with factory ammo. I would not hesitate to own one if a deal were available. Never heard any complaints from my buddy about his rifle. I believe the action is the same being used on the current TRG 42.
