Well...first off, I love my life!!! :D I don't think I can think of a better job than what I do over the summer months. I am lucky to have great parents, a Dad who I really enjoy fishing beside (Who I beat 34-8 this year btw), and a mother who supports us in every way possible, putting up with the purchases of new gear just because "when you have the best boats, you have to have the best gear hunny" as my dad would say!

This year's fishing was one of the best in many years, and the best my young eyes have ever seen. Nearly every day it was non stop action, hitting big Chinook after big Chinook. If we didn't limit out by 9:30am, as some on the forum can attest, it was a slow day. Big fish after big fish would hit the deck...it was unbelievable. Many fish over 40lbs were taken this year, but we only managed 1 over 50 weighing in at 51lbs. However, next year (and 2 years after that) are supposed to be the return of the monsters in good numbers, although in no way am I complaining about a 43lbs hog (caught a lot at that number this year...quite spooky).

For halibut, it was as soon as you hit the bottom you had a hali on, most between 20-30lbs, perfect eating size. It was a pleasure to see one of our guests take the route of catching and releasing a 150+lbs monster. For Lingcod and Yelloweye (aka Snapper) it was a graet year too. When the weather permitted we would run out to our holes and almost every time nail the crap out of them. One day had 15 Lings over 18lbs in the boat in just over an hour, another day 14 Yelloweye in the boat in 45minutes. Fishing doesn't get any better. In two days one group caught over a METRIC TON of fish...thats 2000lbs of fish...and tasty fish at that!!!!!!!

I want to thank all the forum members who we had the pleasure of taking out this year...and who we will hopefully see next year. Had a blast with you all and can't wait to get back out on the big blue Pacific. I know a few of you head up to Port Hardy on your own and for future reference if you need any help or advice, get me a PM or email and I'll be happy to assist (without telling you secret spots of course ;)).

Here are some pictures and highlights of the year!

What a fishing trip, great catch, when i saw those red snappers, I dream of a great fish feed my favorite fish out of salt water.
Seeing those fish pictures is what dreams are made of.
Tight lines, Sonny.
